It had been on my to-read list for so long that I forgot why I was interested in it and was convinced it was a nonfiction book. And instead it's a thriller. Who would have thought that a book with “assassin” in the title could be one?

I don't read many crime novels, but I feel I can say that this novel is one of a kind.
We know who the killer is from the beginning, what we don't know is the motive, but the peculiarity lies in the title itself. The assassin truly has his own ethics, culminating in the decision to kill two people. Can so-called "private justice" be justified and even ethical when "Justice" fails?

I don't think the author truly embraces this thesis; it's more of a not-so-subtle ploy to explain to the reader, even if a little pedantically, how the world works. Despite this, the novel flows quickly, and you always find yourself wanting to know what will happen on the next page.

Ultimately I enjoyed it, I don't know why I put it off for so long!

P.S.
